Since the COVID 19 outbreak the world has had to respond with many new things never seen before. Schools are now online, churches are having practices through video… As the world is changing rapidly, engineers have been trying to find the best solutions to deal with this situation.
Engineers have used the internet to connect and inform us on the latest news and cases of COVID 19. 2 major companies Apple and Google have announced working together to create tools to help track the spread of coronavirus. They will use bluetooth technology with our phones so when we are near someone diagnosed with coronavirus there will be an alert. It is said that identities will all be private

We all know that protective gear as been urgently needed by nurses and doctors, so a team from NSW have put our 3D printing robots to work! A team of engineerings have set up a 3D printing farm at the University of Wollongong. They have set up 40 3D printers to make face shields for the frontline workers to help stop the spread of COVID 19. Currently they have been making hundreds a day, but with 100 more machines coming they are soon expecting the number of shields to rise up to 2000 per day. Their next plan of action is to print parts of ventilators.
In Spain an engineer has 3D printed emergency respiration device to support hospitals and intensive care units.

A team of engineers, anaesthetists and surgeons from the University of Oxford and King’s College London have been testing prototypes for rapidly deployable ventilators. They are trying to develop a prototype that will satisfy the requirements of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency in order to respond to the high demand of ventilators.
